I am sure all of us have this. But would like to share mine
I used to be and will be always philanthropic. My mother used to tell me while I keep giving money to many, please keep some for yourself too. I used to give her one answer-You give with good heart, god will take care. I retired on 31st Dec’20, and right from Nov’20 end started calculating where I stand post the settlement, post all those expense chores which henceforth needs to be supported out of the settlement , as there is not going to be any salary deposits anymore from 1st Feb’21. I recalled what my mother said- keep something for you too. I am not complaining, but I am requesting every one who is reading this post , to be mindful of this and action your savings immediately- keep something for you too, as society at large will survive with whatever your contribution is, even though it is not to the level you want it to be. Please keep aside for you as monthly budget allocation, before your philanthropic ways starts working. After reading this posts don’t feel that I don’t have anything ( I do have), but better planning could have helped now , for even better state.
